Things that I've Created - Jewelry

I love being crafty.  Making pretty things make me happy and has, I think, kept me from being more overweight.  I've been known to go out to Lowe's and buy all brand new lightswitch covers because they didn't match the doorknobs and realizing that the doors needed to be painted at 9:00pm at night.  Did I mention that I was 9 months pregnant at the time?  Some call it nesting, but that just my nature.  I like creating pretty things and giving them away as gifts or keeping them for myself.

Here are some pieces of jewelry that I created during the Thanksgiving weekend.  Some pieces were purchased by my co-workers, other may end up as gifts to my mother and sister-in-law and possibly my mother.  I'll definitely keep one or two of the pieces for myself.

Products That I Love - Carol's Daughter

I have two little girls with full heads of thick, wavy, beautiful hair.  However, because their hair is also soft when left loose they get knots and fuzzy hair when it's braided.  Thank goodness for Carol's Daughter!  Her all natural products are an absolute godsent.  They smell great and make doing hair less of a chore.

Here are my favorites:

Hair Milk:  Lemongrass stimulates scalp circulation and adds luster to dull hair. Sweet almond oil, a natural nut oil that is high in fatty acids and easily absorbed by the scalp.

Healthy Hair Butter: Essential oils of sweet orange, lemongrass, patchouli, ylang-ylang, lavender, cedarwood, shea butter and rosemary make this a can't-miss item for the whole family.

Magical Beauty Collection (Limited Edition): For your little princess, Carol’s Daughter and Disney created a collection of genuinely natural hair and bath treats that gently condition, detangle and soothe. These magical products were inspired by Disney’s newest princess—Tiana and Carol’s Daughter who are proof that with hard work dreams really can come true.

Magical Beauty Gift Set (Limited Edition): Pamper your little princess with this trio of genuinely natural hair and bath treats that gently clean, condition and soothe. This little loving magic is sure to bring out her inner shine.  Gift Set Includes:  Shampoo "The Beauty Within" - 8 fl. oz., Conditioner "Inner Shine" - 8 fl. oz., Bubble Bath "Sharing Means Caring" - 8 fl. oz. and Loofah.

They might be on to something

This morning, after I dropped my girls off in their respective classrooms, I picked up the meal plan for the month of December.  I wasn't amazed by the calendar, but amazed that they will be serving the same thing on certain days of the week.  For example, every Tuesday my girls will have pancakes for breakfast and some sort of chicken for lunch.  I had an Oprah"Ah Ha!" moment.  I'm inspired to do this at home.  Not only would it make my life easier, I think that our household budget can benefit from consistently sticking to a menu instead of just winging it.

I'm adding this to the many things I want to do this weekend and I'll post what I come up with.

Before any other title, I'm always Ayanna

So a co-worker told me that I should have my own television show because of how funny and fabulous I am.  Really? I had to tell her that I wasn't all that fabulous and I'm funny because I would rather laugh than cry.  The compromise was this blog.

I'm a wife of 11 years and a mom to two absolutely beautiful girls.  I'm an administrative professional which means even the most minor of projects causes me to create a spreadsheet and a corresponding powerpoint presentation. I'm also the owner of an event planning company (http://www.eventsbyayanna.com/).  Fulfilling my duties of the first three titles often keeps me from working on the last.  I'm not bitter, but I wish I could get my business off the ground.

So this blog will have a bit of everything from my ramblings about my battle with weight loss to the latest craft I create to helpful tips/hints/websites/articles (mostly pertaining to Moms and social event planning).

Hope you come back and visit.
